We've got some pretty nice snow banks lining our driveway this year.  Good thing the landlord likes to plow!

Project 52, 8/52

"Blur"

This week's theme for Project 52 was "Blur."  I was thinking I could get a good blizzard shot, since we dealt with a lot of snow in the U.P this week.  When it is snowing enough, looking across the street is a bit of a blur.  But I just didn't take any snowy pictures, and by the time I thought of it, the snow was all on the ground.

This weekend I was feeling under the weather.  I spent Saturday on the couch, and my daughter resorted to this.  You can only watch so many episodes of Jessie and Phineas and Ferb before you have to start climbing the walls.

To see how the other Project 52 girls captured "Blur" this week, visit Theresa here and follow the links.

I spent the day on the couch with vitamin C and chicken noodle soup.  She seems to have gotten a little bored.

02.22.13

I'm just going to be laying low this weekend.

02.21.13

A book club!  For me!  Not because I have to but just for fun!

02.20.13

Second snow day in a row, fifth one this year.  Any more, and we have to make them up in the spring.

02.18.13

Catching up on all that homework she was supposed to do on vacation, enjoying the grease at the Kaleva Cafe.

02.16.13

I know Valentine's Day is over, but I'm putting these on the bulletin board anyways.  They're just too cute not to.  And yes it's Saturday, but weekends are when teachers get stuff done.  And yes this picture is sideways but I can't figure out how to fix that.

02.17.13

Sometimes it's the little things, like salted dark chocolate caramels from your mom that she gave you a week ago but you forgot about until you were unpacking.

Project 52, Week 7/52

"Love"

True love, Disney style.

The theme for Project 52 this week was "Love."   I love my daughter to the moon and back and she loves Rapunzel.  And if you believe what you see in the movies, Rapunzel loves this guy.  Also, I loved spending time with my family in Florida, that's for sure.

Find out what Theresa found to love this week here.2013_Project52_promographic

02.15.13

My first day back.  The kids were so happy to see me today.  I'd like to think it wasn't only because of the candy and homework passes.

02.14.14

These almost make up for the disaster zone that is my classroom after a week of kids telling subs where stuff goes.

02.13.13

Soaking up the last little bit of Florida before heading north.

02.12.13

Happy birthday #8!

02.11.13

Cousins, loving the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground without ever having seen the movie.

02.10.13

A little side trip up to Jacksonville to visit Addie's first best friend Primo and his little sister Gale.  It's been almost 3 years since we weren't neighbors anymore,  but you'd never know it watching them play.

02.09.13

Tired cousins, ready for bed before we even get dinner on the table.

02.08.13

Shamu.  They sat way down front.  That means Bob and I also sat way down front.  Bob told them at least 7 times they would get splashed and the water would be cold.  We did get wet.  It was cold.  Then there was a wave of little girls moving moving to the back.

02.07.13

The Mad Tea Party at Magic Kingdom, a fan favorite.

02.06.13

Headed south, after waking up at 4 a.m. for a very early flight.

02.05.13

This should just about do it.  Now to go home and pack!

02.04.13

Every Good Boy Does Fine.  Good Boys Deserve Fudge Always.

02.03.13

My favorite girl at my favorite coffee shop

Project 52, Week 6/52

Shoes

My photo assignment this week was "Shoes."  These are some good ones.  They belong to Wowzer from the Giggle Gang at Disney World in Orlando.  Or maybe they were Chuckles Buffoon McMonkeyshine III.   I just could not keep those two straight.

I could have also shown you a picture of my feet, which have been in sandals all week instead of boots.  Which is one of my favorite things about vacation.  I just thought these were more interesting.  And nicer to look at.  I don't really like my toes.

Project 52, week 5/52

"Opposites"

For this week's picture, the theme was Opposites.   I started packing today for a mid-winter trip to Florida coming up in a couple of days.  Here we have what Addie is wearing today, contrasted with what she will be wearing later this week.

She's a child of the north.  She will wear that swimming suit and jump in the pool even if the temps are only in the low 70's.  I'm hoping for sunny and warm.  Anything over 50 degrees will be lovely, really.  And even then, my kid might jump in the pool.  Because it won't be snowing.

To see what kind of opposites Theresa found this week, visit her here.

02.02.13

If you take a teacher to Florida in February, she'll have to spend hours getting sub plans together.  Hours and hours.

02.01.13

Kitty cupcakes.  Tuna, bread crumbs, an egg, some parm, and a lovely catnip garnish.  Believe it.

01.31.13

My reader, with a fresh new hair cut.

01.30.13

Practicing Sparks verses and eating a Happy Meal.  It must be Wednesday.
